Summer isn't all pool parties and BBQs for teachers! Although we love to relax and have fun, most teachers spend a good amount of time in the summer learning! In my case, this has meant that I have been on campus at the University of Washington finishing my library-media endorsement. This week I have been learning about all kinds of ways to use technology in the library to enhance instruction. I have learned how to build this website with Weebly, create a screencast, and how to use QR codes for learning among other things. I am excited to share what I have learned with students and teachers in September!
While on campus at the University of Washington, I also has the opportunity to tour the basement of the Suzallo library. I saw piles of old Walla Walla Union newspapers and learned how the Seattle Times used to file articles by subject for later reference back in the old days. Check out the photos below!
I hope your summer has been filled with great learning, too. Whether it is how to play Pokemon Go, investigating a new park, or reading about something of interest, every day is an opportunity to learn and grow! I hope you have been as enriched by new knowledge as I have.
