About Mrs. Guillen

Picture
Hello!
My Name is Tracy Guillen and I am Clark Elementary's full-time librarian. I've been teaching elementary-aged students since 1997. During that time, I taught highly capable 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, kindergarten, a 4th and 5th grade science and technology magnet program. This is my eighth year working as a teacher-librarian.  I love my job!

I have many favorite books and authors, but the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling and Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls are among my favorites. I enjoy a good fantasy story and I LOVE dogs!

When I'm not teaching at Clark, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, running, traveling, and of course READING!

Expectations

At Clark, we are SAFE, KIND, and PRODUCTIVE. In the library this means:
  • We treat materials with care.
  • We enter and exit the library quietly
  • We walk in the library
  • We listen attentively and quietly when another person is talking.
  • We stay focused on our task.

4th-5th grade may also borrow Playaway audiobooks. Playaways are small, battery operated MP3 players with single book recorded on them. A print copy of the book accompanies the MP3 player so that students can read-along as they listen. A signed permission slip is required to check out a Playaway.

Students
also have access to digital book resources (e-books and audiobooks) through Sora. They can check out TWO district books at a time as well as KCLS titles

Open check-in and checkout times are Monday-Friday from 9:15am – 9:30am. Students should check in with their teacher to get a pass before coming to the library.

Volunteering in the Library

We LOVE volunteers! If you are interested in helping, you'll need to complete the Issaquah School District's online application and be approved prior to volunteering. We offer a short training at the beginning of the school year to teach you about the library procedures.
